An Emotional Death Prompts The Birth And Release Of Darnell Davis’ ‘Live Again’

Losing his brother to cancer, going through a divorce, and many other emotionally-driven incidents led Grammy®, Dove and Stellar Award nominee and Stellar Award winning producer, songwriter and recording artist Darnell Davis to birth and release “Live Again”, an incredible body of work that speaks to the soul, available Friday, August 11, 2017.
Produced By Darnell Davis and Brian Kendrick for MVP Productions, Live Again is about starting fresh and living a joyous, complete whole life after an emotional death.
“The New CD is entitled ‘Live Again’ because that’s what season I’m in,” says Davis.  “This project is painting the picture of being dead but getting your second wind and living again. It’s one thing to finally live, but it’s truly another to have lived, felt like you died, and actually live again.”
The entire project is amazing however there are standout songs that produce resonance with Davis.
“No, You Can’t Have It” speaks to the enemy and boldly tells him he can’t have my joy and peace, states Davis. “A lot of times we surrender our joy and peace because of our situation, but if we truly knew the power we possess we would stand on this declaration and boldly declare to the enemy he can’t have our joy and peace.”
“Live Again” speaks about getting your second wind and truly living again.  Starting fresh and living a joyous, complete whole life after an emotional death.  This song came to life after Davis read John 11:25 in the Bible where “God told Lazarus’ sister, ‘though he were dead yet shall he live again.’
“I am a Miracle” is about coming from the place of overcoming people’s views of you.  Free from the cares and worries of yesterday.  “I have a different outlook of me,” says Davis.  “No matter what people say, God’s view is what matters the most.
“I’m Still Here” is written by Davis and Darnell E. Nolin exemplifying a good ole’ church song that talks about coming out stronger and better from difficult trials.  It allows one to testify, ‘I’m still here.’
Davis is the minister of music at Greater Friendship in Minneapolis, MN and has written, played for, and/or produced artists and groups like Sounds of Blackness, Wayman Tisdale, Ricky Dillard, Mint Condition, Ann Nesby, and Shirley Caesar to name a few.  He is an accomplished arranger, producer, recording artist and worship leader who has guided the Remnant through its albums, including Psalms of the Remnant, No Compromise, Refocused, and Moving Forward, which appeared in 2014 after the group had signed with RCA Records.
Davis will premiere “Live Again” at two CD release concerts.  On August 11th in Minneapolis at Greater Friendship, and on August 13th at One Church in Long Beach, CA.
